Misdirect Movies

Misdirect Movies - Greyfriars Misdirect Movies is an exhibition I have curated with John Rimmer and the outing in Lincoln is the 3rd of 4 venues, where it is part of Frequency Digital Arts festival. I will be premiering a new commission at Greyfriars, Lincoln. Ensemble Cast is a looped one minute film created from 1500 movie stars morphed into one single pulsing head.

Misdirect Movies is a touring exhibition that explores new possibilities of collage using material gleaned from cinema. The exhibition features seven national and international artists: Rosa Barba, Andrew Bracey, Dave Griffiths, Cathy Lomax, Elizabeth McAlpine, David Reed and John Rimmer.
Misdirect Movies focuses on the impact of digital technologies in film and the visual arts and how the digital is forging revolutionary changes in making art and its presentations. Artists’ use of appropriation and the principles of collage have become a dominant force when working with cinema as a source material. The digital revolution has re-opened artist’s questioning of the materiality and non-material nature of the medium of collage.
The show opens on Friday 4th October 6-8pm and runs until 26th October, it is open Thursday to Saturday prior to Frequency and open every day during the festival.
Address: The Greyfriars, Broadgate, Lincoln, LN2 1HQ
